Stimulus Funding Misleads

The term "Job created or saved by stimulus dollars" has become somewhat well known. The 800 billion dollar stimulus package promised to create or save 3.5 million jobs, and be able to prove it. So the jacked up part about this is now that they aren't creating as many jobs as anticipated, they decided to change how they are tallied.
A memo was released (in the smoke screen that is health care) that outlined how the jobs should be tallied and reported. After reading over the memo, I found the following exerts very fishy...

Page 11
"2. Definitions of jobs considered to be created or retained:

a. A job created is a new position created and filled, or an existing unfilled position that is filled, that is funded by the Recovery Act;
b. A job retained is an existing position that is now funded by the Recovery Act."

and...

"3. A job must be counted as either a job created or a job retained;"

Pay attention to the "job retained" in line item 3 above because a "job retrained" could be due to a pay rate increase, right?

Basically, the lines above make it so that ANY job that is funded or touched by stimulus dollars, regardless of if it was always going to be there with or without stimulus money, now counts towards Obama's 3.5 million jobs.

This maybe why we keep hearing these job creation and saved numbers that sound good, but unemployment is above 10% and rising higher. (That 10% does not reflect the people that have gave up looking for jobs, just those who are currently looking for jobs)

Also, this memo is supposed to lay how they will track this information to see if the stimulus is working or not. But as you see in the text below:

Page 12
10. This Guidance does not establish specific requirements for documentation or other written proof to support reported estimates on jobs created or retained; however, recipients should be prepared to justify their estimates. Recipients must use reasonable judgment in determining how best to estimate the job impact of Recovery dollars, including the appropriate sources of information used to generate such estimate. Where such written evidence exists, it can be an important resource for validating the job estimates reported.

They are relying on vague guidelines for jobs saved and created being reported to them on the recipients judgment, with no written proof required!

It is crap that is happening. No wonder there is so much corruption in politics and business now-a-days. Its because our government, which is supposed to be a role model, tolerate and condone it!

VP Joe Biden's mother passes way/Politcal opportunity?

I am very sorry to hear about our VP's mother passing away and I wish their family the best.
I listened to part of the eulogy today given by Joe Biden (Vice President and Democrat) The speach was wonderful. Oops, did I say "speech" I meant Eulogy. Yes, The euology sounded like it was written by a staffer and was to be read by B.O. (Barrack Obama) The reason I am mentioning this is because even in a time of a family members passing, it sounded like a rehearsed, written speach. While there is nothing really wrong this, I'm sure the words were sincere regardless of whoever wrote them, it illistrates a point that I want to be clear.
Politics is a game. Even in a family crisis, politics played a role. Everything in politics has alterior motives, EVERYTHING! Our Vice President could not look weak, emotional, or unstable. If he gave a good, strong Eulogy, it help his image of a strong, composed and stable Vice Preseident.

Fun Facts Below!

Also in attendance to the funeral:

The Pres. B.O.
Janet Napalatamo (D, Sec. of Homeland Security)
Bill Clinton
Sen. Arlin Spector (D)
Nancy Pelosi (D, House Speaker)
Sen. Chris Dodd (D) ----We'll talk about him in the next blog!
...and others

Politicians flock together!

Welcome

Hello Everyone! I started this blog because Facebook only allows you 420 characters posted on your wall, amongst other things!

I am in my mid twenties and incredibly interested in politics and how it affects our lives. I feel more people in the younger generation should follow politics. When I say follow politics, I don't mean watching your nightly news, CNBC, CNN or even FOX NEWS (sorry dad, but FOX is biased too, just biased in a different direction) but really get involved and listen to what is being said from our politicians themselves, know who your state senators and reps are, etc. Once you have a little info, you can make decisions on your own.

I am a good ol' fashion conservative. I don't affiliate myself with any party, as I feel both are somewhat corrupt and most of our politicians motives are tainted. Politics just a big game, just as interesting as the Real World, Real Housewives of whatever county is this week, Keeping up with the Kardashians or The Flavor of Love (well maybe not the Flavor of Love, Flava Flave is the man! Who else can sport a giant clock and still be such a well rounded individual)

Because this 98% of our political news that easily accessible has already been sliced and diced, we hear what the news companies want us to hear.

In this blog I will try my best to put info that matters that is a little harder to get a hold of. I do the majority of this by listening to uncut speeches.

I will also be adding as much political satire, or anything I find funny that affects us, as I can. WE HAVE TO LAUGH AT POLITICS, OR ELSE I'M AFRAID OF WHAT OTHER EMOTIONS WILL BE SHOWN

I look forward to punching away at the ol' keyboard hopefully stimulating something in your mind to interest you to take the opportunity to be actively involved in our government.

The things our government is doing right now, affects our lives. WE NEED TO BE AWARE OF WHAT IS GOING ON.
